French Master
The designation "French Master" honors the exceptional skills of true master craftsman. The traditional French system requires years of education and apprenticeship before a craftsman has the opportunity to demonstrate their level of competence in their craft. The annual examination, which is much like the Bar Exam, bestows two designations; Joliet and Bijouterie. To receive the designation of Joliet is an honor bestowed on only the most skilled of candidates. Their mark is then registered with the French government.
